…shafts of beaming light to illuminate the crown of the park itself

Jonny Godsmark - McClean’s Beams

Jonny started in the events industry in 1989, at Chichester Festival Theatre. Since then, he's worked in the West End, at Heaven, been on year long tours with Blood Brothers and the Roy Orbison musical, and a show called Taboo. He has designed Lighting for festivals, for buildings, for corporate presentations, Motor Shows, Exhibitions, Road shows, Theatre, Raves and Gigs and a shop for Banksy and now a toe!

About the work

Here artist Jonny Godsmark pays homage to John McClean who designed Mesnes Park as we know it, all the way back in 1877 following a public competition. Jonny adds moving shafts of beaming light to illuminate the crown of the park itself, the Pavilion Cafe.
