Johnny Godsmark - The Toe

Jonny started in the events industry in 1989, at Chichester Festival Theatre. Since then, he's worked in the West End, at Heaven, been on year long tours with Blood Brothers and the Roy Orbison musical, and a show called Taboo. He has designed Lighting for festivals, for buildings, for corporate presentations, Motor Shows, Exhibitions, Road shows, Theatre, Raves and Gigs and a shop for Banksy and now a toe!

About the work

Sir Francis Sharp Powell was a famous Wiganer, known for his work as an MP and for giving to charitable causes. This statue was erected in 1910, and local legend states that rubbing the Toe brings good luck. Here the artist really puts the toe in the spotlight filling the viewer with an insatiable need to shine the shoe!
