“Dance between the trees and play among the stars”

Sound Intervention - The Glittering Grove

Sound Intervention (est. 2008) is a team of artists, makers and technicians directed by Dan Fox; a musician, composer and designer. The company has created many different projects and installations all over the UK. Mostly outdoors and often using battery and solar power, notably the BoomBikes, innovative off-grid electric tricycles with a powerful sound system and digital projectors. Dan has produced soundscapes and light installations for many illuminated trails and light festivals around the UK including Lumiere Durham, Cragside House, Kew Gardens, Leonardslee Illuminated, Spectra Aberdeen and most of the Light Up The North light festivals.

About the work

The Glittering Grove is an immersive, fun and magical reimagining of a woodland path for people of all ages. Six suspended half mirrorballs reflect patterns of slowly moving points of light across the ground and surrounding trees, creating a magical environment, encouraging you to dance between the trees and play among the stars.
